Challenge
Selling enterprise deals with a small marketing and design team behind you
Netic’s go-to-market team is built out of enterprise selling machines. Nolan Matura came from Snowflake and Sean Miller from Verkada. Both were used to selling with a large marketing team behind every deal.
At Snowflake, Nolan had access to everything. “Every kind of deck you would need or want, every legal document, every problem has been seen before,” he said. The playbook was extremely complete.
Netic is a different environment. There is a small marketing team, a small design team, and no extensive deck library to support every deal. Each AE is responsible for building much of what their deals need, from decks to proposals to executive reviews, on their own.
With a small marketing and design team that could not support every deal request, the AEs needed a system that helped them create quality collateral independently.
1. Every personalized deck cost three to four hours.
Building a deep-dive deck meant assembling context from Gong transcripts, email threads, and the prospect’s website, then laying out slides by hand. Nolan estimated the old process took three to four hours per deck, and he needs three or four decks in a normal week. Spending 12–15 hours per week on just deck creation meant that customers got less direct attention on solving their actual problems.
2. General-purpose tools produced AI slop
Nolan tried all of the alternatives. Claude and ChatGPT could generate content but the quality did not hold up in front of a CMO.
“I find most AI sales tools lackluster. Claude is not good at making decks. It’s trying, but you can tell it’s written by AI. But Mutiny is really excellent.” — Nolan Matura, Account Executive at Netic
For a deck headed to a $250K buying committee, that is a risk he could not take.
3. Enterprise software demands an enterprise buying experience
Netic sells mission-critical software in enterprise deals, where the quality of the buying experience matters. The company has built a sophisticated product with an exceptional engineering team, and its sales materials need to demonstrate that same depth and attention to detail. With a lean sales, marketing, and design organization, every rep needs the ability to deliver work that reflects the quality of Netic’s product to every prospect.
“It was either do it manually or use Claude, and you can tell it’s written by AI. It was four, five times longer.” — Nolan Matura, Account Executive at Netic
Solution
On-brand decks in minutes, built by the seller for each touchpoint
The Netic sales team uses Mutiny every day.
Nolan pulls all of his account context across his stack — relevant emails from Gmail, call recordings from Gong, and research from the prospect’s website. He then uses Mutiny to build decks for his meetings, executive reviews, and impact reports in Netic’s brand.
With that foundation in place, Netic’s reps use Mutiny to deliver high quality collateral in moments where a deal is actually decided.
1. Late-stage deep dives for expanded buying committees
When a deep dive gets scheduled with a prospect, it is often the first time the Netic team is in front of several key stakeholders. This requires a deck purpose-made for the room: an agenda, a problem statement of what Netic has heard, and the account’s stated objectives and priorities.
On a recent deep dive with a prospect’s CMO and CTO, Nolan opened with what Netic had heard and asked the room whether he had it right. “They said yes, that’s dead on.” The whole deck took about the length of a coffee break and enabled him to get executive buy-in at a crucial part of the deal.
“The personalized deck helped them get up to speed in three minutes,” he said.
2. Custom proposals and pricing presentations
For pricing conversations and pilot proposals, Sean and Nolan use Mutiny to build each one around the context of the deal, turning what he heard on prior calls into a proposal shaped to the account’s requirements, priorities, and where things stand. Face to face with real economic buyers, that specificity helps the Netic team stand out in key moments.
“Mutiny helps me prep how I want my deck to flow and the story of an important call. Mutiny is very, very helpful there.” — Nolan Matura, Account Executive at Netic
Outcome
5x faster asset creation and more engaged executive buyers
What used to take three to four hours now takes 20 to 30 minutes. At three or four decks a week, that is close to 10 hours back every week per rep. Sellers can focus on actually selling and solving problems, not aligning boxes on a slide.
A better buying experience
“Every time I present a Mutiny deck, people are much more engaged, because it’s extremely personalized to them, the logo, the branding, the words that they’re using. Prior, it was just basic decks with changes, and you could tell it wasn’t as polished.” — Nolan Matura, Account Executive at Netic
The credibility gap closed
Sean spent eight years at a company where the deck never changed, because changing it meant asking someone else. At Netic, nobody asks. Two months in and closing in on three to four deals, the assets do the work before he opens his mouth: they make a challenger look like the most prepared vendor in the evaluation.
“We all have these grand ideas and want to put it together, and Mutiny’s been able to help me actually materialize it. That’s what I love about Mutiny.” — Sean Miller, Account Executive at Netic
